Waen Farm is a small holiday park containing 9 static caravans. Six are owner occupied and 3 letting caravans are 6 berth and caravan 4 is 4 berth.

In the letting caravans 5,6,9 there are 2 bedrooms, one double, one twin room and a further double bed can be made up in the lounge area.

Caravan four has two bedrooms, which are larger than the 6 berth caravans.

There is a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet; fully equipped kitchen area, with fridge, microwave, toaster, iron and table top ironing board.

 For heating and cooking there is a Gas Fire, Gas cooker with grill and four gas rings, extra electric oil filled radiators or convector heaters in caravans 4, 5 &  6 and electric heaters in caravan 9.

 

Letting Caravans

We provide information below, which may help any enquirer to establish whether they may be suitable.

 

3 letting caravans are in the orchard with a paving pathway along the centre, which is wide enough for wheelchair access at 3ft wide. Caravan 4 is in the Meadow and does not have a pathway constructed and is accessed along a cut grassed field.

 

Caravan 4 

The entrance to this caravan is approximately 100Feet (30 yards) to the car parking area. It is 33 feet (10 yards) to the gate, adjacent to the drop off area, from the rear caravan entrance.

The front entrance to Caravan 4 has stone paving steps and a handrail to the outside edge of the steps and the 3ft square platform. The door opens outwards.

The step adjacent to the platform measures a drop of 6inches (15cms), step two drop is 7 ½ inches (18cms) step three drop is 7 ¾ inches (19 ½ cms), 4th step drop is 3 ¾ inches (9 ½ cms) to paving and patio.   The depth of the steps is approximately 11 inches (29 ¼ cms)

 

Rear steps leading to kitchen bathroom and bedrooms.

Top step has an 8inch drop (201/4cms) middle step is 6 ½ inch (16cms)

Bottom step is also 6 ½ inch (16cms) drop. The depth of each step ranges from 11 ½ inch (29cms) to 14 ½ inch (36 ½ cms)

The door opens outwards and is 22 ½ inch (57cms) wide.

There is a wooden decking patio that measures 94 inches (239 cms) by 104 inches (264 cms).

 

The kitchen is separated from the lounge by an open hatch the doorway through to the lounge is 18 ½ inches (47 ½ cms) wide and the height is 71 ½ inches (182 cms)

 

The two bedroom doors open outwards.

 

The bathroom door opens inwards and measures 18 ½ inches (47 1/2cms) wide height 71 ½ inches (182cms)

There is a toilet, wash basin and shower and the step up and over the barrier into the shower measures 14 ½ inches (37cms)

 

 

Caravan 5

The main entrance to caravan 5 has 3 stone steps, together with a wooden handrail and the entrance doorway measures twenty seven and a half inches wide. The paved pathway leading to the caravan is four feet wide.

The first 2 steps are six and a half inches in depth, the third step has a depth of six inches. A further caravan entrance has 3 stone steps with no handrail and the depth of the steps is 7inches. The internal doors measure 20 inches wide.

The bathroom features a walk-in shower, with one entry step-over measuring 13 inches and a glass door, which opens outwards. The bathroom is relatively easy to negotiate with the door opening inwards.

The lounge and kitchen area is fairly wide. The smaller bedroom door opens outwards; the main bedroom door opens inwards.

 

Caravan 6 has 4 stone steps into both entrances and handrails. 3 steps measure a drop of 7 inches, 1 at a 5-inch drop and a further final one onto the paving pathway of 4 inches. There is a galley kitchen.

The shower in the bathroom is contained within a small bath with a curtain, hence there is a 19 inch barrier to step over to get into it, once in the shower, there is an area on which to sit. The bathroom is relatively easy to negotiate. All internal doors open outwards.

 

 

Caravan 9.

The 4 stone steps into the front entrance door of the caravan have a drop of 6 inches and they are 4 feet wide and there are stone steps to the rear entrance. There is a handrail to both front and rear entrance doors

 

The pathway leading from the central walkway to caravan 9 is 2 feet wide and also leads to a small patio area.

The bathroom door opens inwards and it contains a walk-in shower with a glass shower door opening outwards, with a barrier to step over measuring 13 inches in height. The bathroom in this caravan is fairly small and perhaps not as easy to negotiate as No. 5 & 6. The door of the main bedroom opens inwards, the twin bedroom door opens outwards.

The kitchen area is fairly easy to negotiate, as this does not have a galley kitchen.

 

 

 

*Public transport

The nearest train station is either Valley or Holyhead. At Holyhead buses can take passengers to Tesco, Holyhead, where there is a service twice a day direct to Llanfechell.

From Tesco in Holyhead a bus service number 61 runs direct to Llanfechell at 8.40am and 13.45pm and takes approximately 35 minutes.

This service provided by Lewis y Llan (01407 832 181) and will stop on request at the end of the Lane (Lon Sarn), which leads to Waen Farm – then there is a distance of   ¼ of a mile to the caravan park.      We may be able to meet visitors by car from the end of the lane by prior arrangement.

Other bus services travel past Cemaes Bay, which is approximately 2 miles away from Waen Farm.

The main number for Bus service enquiries on Anglesey is 0870 608 2 608(until January 2008) open 7am to 9pm daily.

Alternatively we can provide details of a taxi firm that would provide a service from the stations.

*Car Parking is available in an informal car park but not adjacent to caravans.

There is a drop off/collection point approximately 56ft (20mts) from a car to the entrance of the furthest positioned caravan.

*We would be happy to assist with luggage if needed.

 

*Assistance in settling in is available if required. It is normal procedure for us to show guests the facilities, especially the safety equipment on the site and in the caravans.

 

Wheelchair hire. We MAY be able to obtain a hire wheelchair for Guests if required from The British Red Cross (present cost £23.50 per week) But this depends on availability and guests are urged to reserve this early.

 

*External seating – each letting caravan has plastic chairs and a picnic table, which may not be suitable for all visitors.

The recreation field has 2 wooden steel trimmed bench seats at each bottom corner, contained within a wooden roofed structure surrounded by trellis.

 

 

*Steps – There is only one small step leading from near to the Orchard into the Meadow, which in turn leads to the recreation area. The large field gate could be opened where there is no step to allow access. This large field can also be accessed from the rough ground of the parking area.

There are no steps around the rest of the site but there is rough ground, two slight speed bumps made of concrete and stone and sloping ground into the car parking area. The caravans are surrounded by grass, with trees, shrubs and in some cases flowerbeds. As listed above, there are stone steps into the caravans.

 

*Lighting. The car park and Orchard and Meadow by Caravan 4 are well lit.

 

*Assistance dogs are welcome. As based within farmland, visitors are requested to keep dogs on a lead at all times. Arrangements could be made to exercise an assistance dog in the recreation area, which is part of a larger field containing 4 caravans.

 

*Refuse – Each caravan has a kitchen bin and a smaller bathroom bin. As the site is on septic tank drainage, it is important that no sanitary aids other than soft toilet tissue are disposed of down toilets.

Outside the caravan is a larger domestic bin. The site also recycle, glass, aluminium cans and newspapers. We would be happy to assist with the disposal of waste, provided it is contained in bags, to the refuse area if needed.

 

General Site Information

 

Waen Farm Caravan Park is situated within farmland in a special landscape area of the coast of North Anglesey.

The Village of Llanfechell is one mile away, where there is a Church, Post Office selling general provisions and newspapers. There is also a public house.

 

The picturesque seaside town of Cemaes bay is two miles away, where there are a variety of shops including a paper shop, general store, butcher, greengrocer, a heritage centre café, hotel and pharmacy.
